Counter Magazine Spreads
Typography, Editorial, Photography
The objective of this project is to create two magazine spreads for the fictional magazine Counter, using original photography and a visual metaphor representing a chosen article.
This design is for the article Ethics and Paying Rent by Mike Monteiro and focuses on the idea from the article that by behaving unethically, creatives take a huge risk on their career and reputation. Using a visual metaphor of a die crushing paint brushes, a dramatic colour combination, and bold use of typography, this design emphasizes the article's impactful message.

Process
This project started with a series of concept thumbnails based different visual metaphors relating to risk, ethics, and consequences.
Once the concept of dice and paintbrushes was chosen, dice representing risk and paintbrushes representing a creative career, a photoshoot was done to get a variety of images to use in the design.

Final Design
The final product features a bold and impactful design that emphasizes the main concepts of the article.
